Another global film market was happening in Milan that fall, and in speaking to various industry people, it made sense to show up at that market and re-surface the company brand name. I figured it would be a great opportunity to make more contacts and try to reinvigorate the tired image and the pathetic catalog. I’d give this company a new face, that’s what I had convinced myself, because my own image was so coupled with their that my identity was suffering as a result of their failure at this point in time.

Flew home, got drunk, showed up at work with no notes, no business cards, no deals, because I forgot whatever I did have at home because I was hung over and really, really, really sick of being screwed. And I still had to go to the DMV and get my license replaced, too, and that’s a job in and of itself on 34th street.
